Speedline Technologies Announces Software Release 8.3 for MPM AccuFlex In-Line Printers - Adds New Functions, Capabilities to New and Installed Equipment

Speedline Technologies, Inc. (http://www.speedlinetech.com) announces the availability of a software release? providing added functionality and capabilities ? for its industry-leading MPM AccuFlex in-line printers.
The upgrade is immediately available for both new and for upgrade on installed AccuFlex systems.Accuflex printers provide a highly reliable, fast and accurate means of applying solder paste and other PCB materials and are ideally suited for moderate volume, high-mix printing at a cost-effective price. The system combines accuracy and unparalleled flexibility in a compact footprint, providing only what is needed for efficient and precise printing, while offering a full range of options for future expansion.Speedline's newest software release delivers a number of features requested by current customers.
Two advancements expand the capabilities of the printer for the production of smaller, higher density boards with fine-pitch ball grid array (BGA) and chip scale package (CSP) components.

These are:
?
Fine-pitch Vision Alignment Option for more precise alignment for boards with ultra-fine pitch devices
?
Enhanced functionality to Teach Custom Ball Grid Array (BGA) Devices for 2D Inspection and store these device patterns in a device library for easy retrieval Two additional enhancements, which provide for improved process monitoring and reduced operator Mean Time to Assist (MTTA), are:
?
Offline programming capability using CAD or Gerber data via Aegis Industrial Software Corporation's CircuitCAM Machine Programming software.
CircuitCAM Machine Programming modules radically reduce machine programming time for through-hole and surface mount production, inspection, and process machine interfaces.
?
Off-line monitoring capability using iMonitor software, a feature-rich reporting and performance analysis tool, providing completely browser-based remote monitoring by station, machine, line, factory or the entire enterprise ? over a Web or network connection. iMonitor is also available from Aegis Industrial Software Corporation. In addition, the software release now meets the newest industry standard for information transfer -
XMLprotocol.
The CAMX interface enables the software to seamlessly communicate printer operation messages to a host computer for system monitoring as well as provide for the easy interchange of data with other XML-based software throughout the production facility."The enhancements provided by our latest software upgrade strengthen and broaden the production, operational, and communication capabilities of the AccuFlex system as the leading printing solution delivering maximum efficiency, quality, and throughput for the SMT industry," said Bob Boyes, product manager for MPM Printers. The software upgrade is available immediately for both new and installed Speedline MPM AccuFlex printers.

Printer's - Now As Common As The Telephone

Printers have been around for a very long time. From the oldhand cranked block printing machines, to the most advancedcolor laser printers on the market, they have made tediouswriting by hand outdated. Now you simply have to type upwhat you want to say on your computer, put paper into sheetfeeder, and push print. Like magic out comes your documentmaking it easy to print a book, send out some flyers foryour church bake sale, or whatever your printing needs are. Before the advent of computer printers for home use, to getthese types of documents one would have to go and pay aprinting business to make them for you, or make one by handand photocopy it. Either way could be quite costly if youwanted to make lots of copies.Printers come in a wide variety; there is dot matrix,ink-jet, bubble-jet, and laser printers to name a few.

Dotmatrix printers are sort of antiques now but they used aseries of pins to make the lettering. If you look closely ata document or photo printed on one of these...

An Introduction To Laser Printers

The ?Model 3800' by IBM was the first laser printer, introduced in 1975. Very soon, the ?ND 2 by Siemens and the ?9700' by Xerox also came out. The technology of laser printers was revolutionized by commencement of the LaserJet in 1984, by HP. After that, the prices of laser printers have continued to drop.

A laser printer basically uses a laser beam to print images of supreme quality. This is done by producing the image on a photosensitive drum with the help of a laser beam, and then the image is transferred onto paper using the usual printing process.

Accuracy, economy and speed are the major advantages that laser printers have.

This is because a laser can move very fast compared to an ink jet. And since a laser travels in a single line, it is more precise, thereby avoiding the spilling of ink. Even though laser printers are more expensive than inkjet printers, their toner is cheaper and long lasting. It is because of this that laser printers are used...

Automatically Validating Barcode Printers

Every botched

barcode label
is a problem waiting to happen. In today's marketplace, where
compliance labelling is essential, an errant barcode can be a tremendous source
of inefficiency and lost revenue. Unfortunately, validating every barcode label
can be a time-consuming and frustrating process. One money-saving solution is to
invest in barcode printers featuring automatic validation devices.

Automatically validating barcode printers
check each label prior to finishing its printing. If a glitch or error of some
sort occurs, these barcode printers will either print over the errant label or
clearly identify the misprint to prevent use.

These barcode printers usually work with an internal or external integrated
barcode scanner and review their own work...
